My mother has Ahlzimers (I can never spell that), she would forget to wear the camera & then she would lose it. She does enjoy looking at pictures of herself & her family though, I think it helps her to remember us.

It seems a satelite location devise would be less intrusive than a camera.
These guys do wander off, though.
When I lived up North I volunteered to visit a local nursing home a couple of times a week. Once I was out in my husband’s sports car and parked way at the end of the parking lot so it would not get dinged. It was winter and the thing needed to be driven now and then to keep it running but it was awful in ice and snow.
So, I get out of the car and I see a scarf hanging over the snow bank. I investigate and find a nursing home resident sitting there freezing. They did not even know she was gone. They would not have noticed ‘til lunch time.
Oh dear! Thank God you were there!
That was lucky for her and her family, for sure.

This is not unusual! I worked in an Adult Day Care facility many years ago with Alzheimer’s patients, and there were maybe 4 of them who spent their days plotting escapes. Once, led by an intrepid former police officer, the group, including a rather elegant lady in a white pants suit, tunneled under the back fence. The lady shimmied under the fence with no problem after the guys went first. We caught them minutes later, no harm.
Another resident, Henry, used to escape on solo escapades, and once got several miles away before being apprehended.
People should never underestimate the motivation of these folks once they think they’re in the wrong place and need to “get back”, though they aren’t sure where “back” is.
Me too! Went to your site and saw your beautiful pictures. Looks like you love birds, me too. I also like to take pictures of flowers. I am way amateur, though. I live in WI so have all the seasons and no nifty swamp.
We do have Horicon Marsh, the largest cattail marsh in the US about an hour away. That can be wonderful. Also we have lots of beautiful country places. I love taking pictures and capturing things that are fleeting and being able to enjoy them later. It's not always easy to capture that special picture, though.
I like to capture with the camera pictures that remind me of Monet's paintings. That can be a challenge.
