Well, I've come down with flu like symptoms and it's been 2 days of no fun.

My major symptoms are not what I'd call life-threatening, they are what I'd call annoying. I am experiencing:

1) Major back pain and body aches. Don't look at my back, it hurts. Need advil to lie down. 2) Exhaustion. I want to lie down. I don't care if it hurts.

My minor symptoms are: 1) Minor, not severe ear pain 2) Minor but gone almost immediately sore throat 3) Initial onset of headache, gone 1st night prior to other symptoms 4) Stomach quesiness but still hungry

No fever despite heavy aches, which I imagine are the results of the toxins building up in my system.

Drinking as much juice and vitamin C supplements as possible. Squeeze me and you'll get Florida's finest, it's quite possible I'm being stalked by Anita Byrant.

So what have any of you experience with the bugs out there this year?

Thanks for any info you can share...

Well, we are a family, in a way, aren’t we? :)

Good luck at the dr’s and keep us posted!

Don’t stop the motrin for the doctor visit. They will believe you without making her more uncomfortable.

Last week I had a splitting headache for three days, and I was achy. It did start with a mild sore throat which I treated immediatly with vit c and salt water gargles. I also use a neti pot every day so virsus don't get a foothold.

The rest of the family had similar symptoms with a runny nose as well, starting before mine.

I take 10000 IU vit D everyday since I had a malignant mole removed a few years ago. I think it helps with flus and colds as well, since I generally get a much milder version of what everyone else gets. I used to get hit harder.

It definitely sounds like you have the flu. There are no body aches with a “regular” cold virus. If you are in the United States, there is no other flu going around but the H1N1. So you probably have swine.

While all the flu symptoms could hit you, some people have it without the fever. Some even have it without much lung activity.

Some people get over it in 2-3 days. Some get over it in 7-10 days.

But right now, with H1N1 WIDESPREAD in nearly every state, if you come down with any of the following symptoms in any combination, I’d armchair diagnose it as H1N1:

— high fever (with no other explanation, like infection)

— body aches

— sudden and extreme fatigue, where you NEED to get into bed

— sudden lung congestion and cough

Even one of these alone could be YOUR symptom of the H1N1.

My little boy had an instant high fever and cough. A normal cold would be a sore throat, sniffles, low fever, and the cough would come a day or two LATER. The flu can give you a cough right away.

I went through what you did, several days after my son had finished with the H1N1. I woke up and felt like CRAP. Took a shower, looked at my appointments, and wondered if I could make it to them all. This was in August. I probably did the wrong thing and tried to go about my day, feeling sicker by the minute. I wasn’t sure I could make it home. I had not ONE symptom I could describe except feeling REALLY SICK, quite “off.” A few hours later, I was feeling fine, back to normal. I still don’t know if I had it or not.

No one in our family has been hit with the flu...yet...(knock on wood). Wanted to let you know that a friend of mine that has a PhD in Pharmacy recommends Sambucol and Oscillococcinum to combat flu. She is also ardently against the H1N1 vaccine, FWIW. Here are the links for you:
http://www.oscillo.com/

In addition to Vitamin C and Vitamin D, Selenium is supposed to support the immune system as well. I hope your family is doing better soon.

The swine seems to start with a headache as the first symptom, then body aches, then a variety of coughs, fevers, sniffles, sore throats - any or all of those.

Had exactly all of that starting about two weeks ago. The lower backache and leg aches about a day before coming down with the cough/fever, etc. was quite pronounced. I'm just now getting normal.

I didn't have any nausea or stomach issues - just reduced appetite.

Oh Leggy you poor thing! :( Glad you're feeling better now. Everyone else, take LOTS of Vitamin D (at least 3000 IU per day) to ward off the flu.

Interesting. My husband and I both had a day in Sept (same day) when we had similar sick feelings. Except for having a headache and some minor muscle pain we couldn't pin point any other symptoms. We just both felt horrible and sick. I expected we were coming down with the flu but the next morning we both woke up feeling fine. I HOPE we had the H1N1 and we are finished with it. But I doubt it.
