The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel posted this photo essay showing the HUGE lines of people being forced to wait outside in the rain for flu shots.

That pretty much cuts through all the noise, doesn’t it?
Awesome.
Now THAT’s a picture worth a gazillion words.
BRILLIANT..!! BRAVO..! Short and sweet!!!
That needs to be blown up bigger and gamma correction applied. It’s too good not to go viral. :)
Please someone title this : Government Run Healthcare means Standing in the Rain
That guy nails it. Hero of the week.

Bigger picture.
Make it go viral. Send it to everyone you know.
Don’t mean to sound trite here, the flu is nothing to ‘’sneeze’’ at(sorry for the pun) but the best way to avoid getting sick: Cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze(with a Kleenex or clean handkerchief) and WASH YOUR HANDS!
This story should go straight to drudge..!! maybe Rush also.
That is classic but so true...
The poor childrins don’t even have coats. They are wrapped in blankets
Yep, that’s about what it’ll look like!!!
I think this photo could win a pulitzer.
ROFL!!!!
PRICELESS IS RIGHT! I stood up and clapped!
His name is Mike O’Keefe and I’m in love. What a hero!
It's the G@d D@mn Flu.... so what!!!!!
The only one that should be in line is probably the one in the wheelchair and she'd be safe if they used good hand washing techniques before they cared for the wheelchaired patient.
I've worked in high contact areas for many years and have never had the flu shot and haven't gotten the flu once. I've been sick about 9 years ago after a little kid coughed in my face and I didn't get to wash the inside of my nostrils.
I've made a point of washing keyboards, phones and anything that I touch at work then just don't touch my face unless I clean off my hands.
Everyone needs to look up how many Influenza deaths there are yearly. Compare it to this year and tell my how deadly this swine flu is.
The best argument I've heard against the flu immunization was the fact that the flu vaccine is supposed to cut down deaths by 50%. The years that the flu vaccine was the WRONG serotype of influenza, deaths didn't increase by 50%. Just the same old folks, immunocompromised people (cancer and AIDs) and the very young die with comorbid conditions like poor nutrition, asthma or bad luck.
LoL!
I got the flu shot on the insistence of my GP on Weds evening. I have felt like total crap ever since. No, it wasn’t the swine flu one, just regular one. But good Lord the fever and chills and aches. Feels like I should have just taken my chances with the flu. No guarantee I won’t get one anyway.
First and last flu shot.
What gamma correction? That is hacker text and people of this generation need to see it.
This swine flu thing is an exercise in showing that the gubermint cares.
It is a very mild strain
I mailed it to Drudge.
Guy’s name is Mike O’Keefe and he is now my hero.
Cool down, doggie! I just meant to lighten the picture up because it’s too dark on a rainy day. I sent it to my people after I applied a lightening filter. Makes it easier to see.
How is covering YOUR OWN mouth and nose going to prevent YOURSELF from getting it? Washing hands, yes. But it’s the ones with the flu who DON’T cover their mouth and nose that’s the problem.

Yeah, my fever addled brain read “grammar” instead of “gamma” and I’m sorry. I think I need to refrain from posting...
When it comes to the pig flu, you’re not allowed to make sense.
I mean anyone and everyone who sneezes, infected or not. Its just common sense and good grooming.
Ping
I’ve gotten the regular flu shot twice.
I ended up with
Injection site pain
Soreness in the upper arm for 2 weeks
“All exits/no waiting” Multi-orifice weep for about 2 weeks
And a cough for a month.
I will NEVER get another
My hubby had one. SAME SYMPTOMS.
Not me, not him, nor either of my kids will EVER have a stupid flu shot.
(but people here will tell you that NONE of this can happen)
I also thought it was slang or typo for grammar. We’ve
been hit by the grammar police before. And I ended my
sentance with a preposition, cherry on top: No spell cheque
LoL! “Fake but accurate”
Heh, heh (blushing). I may have over-reacted but the image is iconic of the rugged, independent America I love. A fine sight in these times.
I wish Drudge would pick up this picture. Its really says alot.
In my area, the doctors don’t have the flu vaccine, the clinics, drug chains, city department of health, and hospital outpatient centers don’t have flu vaccine - so I went to this totally private organization that had plenty of flu vaccine on hand. No lines, nice sofas to wait on - very efficient and polite. Had to pay for it, but it was worth it.
Awww..you just need a big ol hug.
That is freakin’ awesome.
Don’t those people understand being out in this weather for hours they can get sick in the first place?
What people will do to wait for something for free, when you could go to Walgreens and immediately get the shot for a small fee.

those shots will make them sicker than any weather will
That is just perfect! Is that guy a FReeper?
