Got a suggestion for an inexpensive town;/area where I could get a house on a few acres? I know nothing about TN.
From the article you linked:
Trevor Marshall, Ph.D., professor at Australias Murdoch University School of Biological Medicine and Biotechnology, explains...
"In fact, the use of supplements can be harmful, because they suppress the immune system so that the body cannot fight disease and infection effectively."
So, using nutritional supplements is now "harmful"?
Pardon me, but I smell the (anti-nutrition industry) stench of big government grants, aided and abetted by Big Pharma lobbyists in this scientist's opinion.
btt
Then you need your nose checked.
There are no big government grants to Dr Marshall nor grants from big Pharma, the total budget for his Autoimmunity Research Foundation (501(3)c) is about $40G or so.
Suggesting a cheaper approach than Remicade, Methotrexate, Fosamax, or any of the statin drugs, as Dr Marshall does, puts him on the outs with big Pharma. They'd hardly be friends with somebody whose work is likely to put a huge dent in their business model.
And speaking about business models, selling Vitamin D and other supplements is a pretty big business itself. Those peddlers of nostrums aren't too happy with Dr Marshall either.
The point I noted was about vitamin D particularly. If you want to argue the point, let's start a discussion on the papers published by Dr Marshall & co., such as Vitamin D: the alternate hypothesis, from Autoimmunity Reviews, July 2009.
Sorry, Luke. Dr. Marshall completely lost me with the statement that "supplements are dangerous".
Any "scientist" who utters such a blanket, damning generalization against natural nutritional supplements is operating from some hidden agenda, or has an ulterior motive for doing so.
If you want to argue the point, let's start a discussion on the papers published by Dr Marshall & co....
No thanks. I saw enough at your link.
Ok then, follow your nose. I prefer following my head when my health is on the line, but to each his own.
Indeed.
