When Rock enters a Korean-owned hair-supply shop in California that caters to blacks, his condescending questions point to the friction between African Americans and Asians in ways that aren't altogether amusing.

I wonder why he's condescending; because the store is KOREAN owned? They were just exploiting a ready market. Any black entrepreneur could have done the same, but apparently didn't.

I was in Las Vegas years ago for a long week-end and there was some convention in town from Texas....I never saw so many bleached blonds in one place before...I figured it must be a Texas law or something like that....not a brown, red headed or black haired woman to be found......:O)

Saw it this afternoon. Very funny.

I had no idea hair was such a big export in India. Theres a scene where one man explains that not only is hair obtained from women sacrificing it at a temple, but it’s also snatched from the heads of sleeping women, and distracted women at the movie house.

Texas law, definitely!

With Laura Bush being the only exception.

Corn rows don’t hurt the hair, but they’re pretty painful to get done when they pull the hair so TIGHT against the scalp.
It’s painful to undo as well.
This child has hair well past her shoulders and it takes HOURS to corn row when IT ISN’T necessary. All the hairstyles for ‘good’ hair are possible, but-nope-they persist in doing what they say they HATE to have to do to their hair to hers. Makes no sense to me.
And there is no way it makes sense to subject any child to HOURS in a chair while you do their hair. Especially when it isn’t necessary.
