When I was a freshman in college (1986), some guys in my dorm got together and we used a Ouija Board. I did not believe it was real at all until I tried it. I was shocked at how easily the piece moved across the board. My roommate and I used it together and we spoke to a local “spirit”. We asked if it wanted to “speak” to anyone in the room. It moved to “yes”. When we asked “who” it quickly spelled out my name... We asked what it wanted to talk to me about and it spelled out “death”. We asked it “how?” and it quickly spelled out “fire”. We then hesitated but asked it “when”? It spelled out 198... and my roommate pulled his hand of yelling that he did not want to know...

The next morning our suite-mate, who was a devout Christian, said that he had horrible dreams all night about demons and Satan. We never used it again...

Needless to say, I did not die in a fire in the 1980’s but on December 31, 1989 I was at my then girlfriends house and her parents had me sleeping in the basement bedroom and it was a room with no windows. Had there been a fire in that house...

We used to play with it. Had some strange things happen, nothing too scary. It was awfully weird how the thing moved, and I know it wasn’t any voluntary movement of myself or the other person. Wouldn’t do it now... bad idea.
