A pregnant Hesperia woman was seriously injured today when her pit bull bit and fractured her arm, officials said. Paramedics responded to her home in the 7300 block of Braceo Street, near Ranchero Road, about 1:40 p.m. and found the 20-year-old woman bleeding profusely.

The woman, who is nine months pregnant, was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center. Sheriff's officials said the fetus appears to be unharmed.

Animal control was called to take custody of the pit bull. It is unknown what caused the dog to attack.
