Video: Demo. James Clyburn Bluntly Reveals Dem's Plan to Use the "Nuclear Option" to Pass ObamaCare

Here is video of Democrat Rep. James Clyburn flatly revealing that "the magic number is 50" in the U.S. Senate to pass ObamaCare. That means, the Senate will use the "Nuclear Option" (Reconciliation Process) to ram the bill through the Senate when the time comes. Up to now, as far as I know, no Democrat has come right out and said it, but now Clyburn has. He even said that on the day of the vote, "The Vice-President will probably be in the chair." Meaning to cast the 51st vote for passage, if needed.

All their talk of "bipartisanship" is a total sham. The Democrats appear ready to impose Socialized Medicine on America no matter the political cost to themselves. If they are determined to do so, Republicans will simply not have the votes to stop it in the Senate, UNLESS, enough of an outcry takes place from across the country to scare about nine Democratic Senators into not voting in favor using the Nuclear Option.

Clyburn is a jackass. He’s not a senator. They’ve got enough trouble getting this thing through the HOUSE, let alone having this moron worry about the senate.

If it passes it better pass with NO republican votes. And the republicans should make 2010 and 2012 a referendum on it. Their #1 promise should be we will repeal the democrats’ health care bill. That is the surest way to get back in power.

a health care bill, with the public option, is going to pass both houses. that’s been obvious for months now. they are deliberately stalling, milking the “opposition” for all it is worth. democrats don’t care that nearly half of this country opposes their plans. that’s irrelevant. i can’t believe most of you doubted that they would pass a bill by year’s end. that has been the plan from the beginning, and nothing will change that.

Democrat James Clyburn Bluntly Reveals Democrats Plan to Use the “Nuclear Option” to Pass ObamaCare - Video

A total misrepresentation of what the tape says. This idiot is expressing his moronic opinion, not a plan...as if he knows shite about anything, or would be part of a Senate plan, anyway, just another self-important fool...this is the kind of crap that turns up in the MSM about how the “right is lying about Dems”...I’d take this down...

I’ll go on record. I don’t think it passes. I don’t think they can even get 50 votes with this montrosity of a bill.

“I’ll go on record. I don’t think it passes. I don’t think they can even get 50 votes with this montrosity of a bill.”

This will sound perverse, but I am almost rooting for exactly what he is saying...that Slow Joe ends up sticking this up our arses and it ends up putting these idiots out of power for a long, long time...hopefully we can undo it in 2012, if they are stupid enough to do this...when 85% of the people tell you they are fine with their insurance just the way it is, you are REALLY living in a Marxist fairy tale land if you go against us...

Nonsense. Time is not on their side. They have NOTHING to gain by stalling. They wanted this thing done BEFORE the August recess. Go back and look at what they said. It was a huge disaster when they failed to do that. They’ve failed on every deadline since. This past deadline (passing it in October) was the death knell. It was October or not at all. And now that October’s over, AND they have no chance of passing a bill that hasn’t had public scrutiny, their chances are nil.

They do not have more than 47 votes in the senate for the public option. And they’ll get even less than that if they try and use reconciliation.

They can’t pass it in the house with the public option and the progressive caucus won’t let them pass one without it. They’ve been at the same impasse for months now and nothing has changed. The fact that nothing passed the house in October clearly supports what I am contending. They can’t even do that.

If you think it’s been ‘obvious for months now’ that ‘they are deliberately stalling’, you haven’t been paying enough attention to what is going on.

The very fact that they have ZERO chance of passing this by Tuesday, when they are more than likely to receive a shellacking, is an indication of just how screwed up they are. Barring surprise wins on Tuesday, they are completely screwed getting this through at all.

We still need to make our opposition known and make it evident to our congresscritters that we WILL take their jobs if they vote for it, but they already know that. The real worry right now is Pansey Graham and his new found love for Cap and Trade.

I think people just get used to ascribing strategic brilliance to the Democrats, when in actuality, we’re dealing with something more akin to the Keystone Cops here.

The lack of real compromise on key sticking points (funding for abortion, public option, etc) in both the new senate bill and the new house bill, are indications that no progress has been made and no progress will be made.

The bills that have been brought forth are for the benefit of the left wing base and it is now time to find ‘villains’ to blame the failure on. Joe Lieberman and the Republicans are what we have so far, but that isn’t cutting it. We’ll have to see who from their own caucus they throw under the bus, since some sacrifices are needed. Blanche Lincoln comes to mind.
