Lindsay Lohan's Mother: My Daughter Was Involved with Heath Ledger When He Died

NEW YORK (WPIX) - Lindsay Lohan was having a secret relationship with Heath Ledger when he died, said the troubled starlet's mother, Dina, in a recently-released recording of a 2008 phone conversation with father Michael Lohan.

During the recording, which was posted Tuesday on Radar Online's website, Dina Lohen says about the alleged relationship, "I don't know if you know that, but I know cause I would drop her off and they were friends. Very, very close, okay?"

LiLo's mom says that Ledger's death may have pushed her daughter over the edge. The 28 year-old Academy Award-nominated actor was found dead of an apparent drug overdose in a Lower Manhattan apartment

"That f----d her up," Dina said. "When she's drunk or takes an Adderall with it, she will do something like Heath Ledger did in a second without thinking."

The conversation also turned to the couple's rocky marriage and the effect it might have had on Lindsay, with Dina Lohan even referencing alleged domestic abuse by her father. "She cannot be alone," Dina said, "when she sleeps here she sleeps with me . . . She fears from being little and what you did to us."

Lindsay's mother was also critical of her relationship with girlfriend Samantha Ronson, saying she thought that Lindsay should end it, but acknowledged it might be hard for her daughter. "It's very easy for a rational person to say," Dina added. "But but (not) for an irrational person who has a problem with her DNA and alcohol and Adderall and asthma and every other things she's got wrong with her." Copyright © 2009, WPIX-TV
