Does the PS3 play standard DVD’s as well?

ANY Blu-Ray player is compatible with DVD and CD. . .

The PS3 plays DVDs and Blu-Ray (and probably audio disks ask well). I've had mine for a couple of years now and been very happy with it. Two suggestions though..

1) Get one of those fan-driven cooling pads to put under it.

2) Get the remote control they make for it - using game controllers to control video replay is awkward.

yes, it does play normal DVD, and they look very nice.
