It’s fascinating that the Secret Service detail allowed those Chinese soldiers to have fixed bayonets on their rifles.

If that were inside the USA, recall...the Honor Guard at the Naval Academy graduation couldn’t carry their ceremonial swords.

I wonder if he was supposed to do something which he didn't do and they were waiting for him to do it but he never did it so they are laughing at him because again he did or didn't do something that reflected lack of protocol on his part.

Or, they showed the resident the universal respect he deserves.

LOL Gotta love that low-tech shooting range. What is the backstop? Looks like a wooden fence and an office building behind that.

Rules differ in different places: Here, each file stares straight ahead until the honoree (our POS, the Zero) walks across their front, then they turn their heads to follow the honored guest as he continues past.

The guy with the goofy look is no more.

Yes ... The Russians and many former SovBloc eastern European countries also use SKS for ceremonial rifles. They balance well.

US Military also sometimes uses “obsolete” rifles for ceremonial purposes. See, for example, these Soldiers:

I prefer the Springfield 1903A3 over the M1 for drilling: It has a better balance for twirling and throwing.
