According to the Warren Report, “Oswald was trained in the use of the M-1 rifle. His practice scores were not very good, but when his company fired for record on December 21, he scored 212, 2 points above the score necessary to qualify as a “sharpshooter” on a marksman/sharpshooter/expert scale”
In recent years there have been definitive documentaries proving, (to me anyway), that Oswald was the lone shooter. The ballistic evidence is solid, there is no “magic bullet”, and the backwards head snap is in keeping with the physics of what would actually happen if shot from behind. When shooters repeatedly shot gel filled dummy skulls, they invariably recoiled towards the shooter, contrary to what Garrison repeatedly contended in the famous trial in New Orleans.
There is now no “evidence of conspiracy” which has not been thoroughly debunked. Oswald shot him and he acted alone, as did Jack Ruby in shooting Oswald.
Shooting that affects the spinal chord also causes a nervous reaction, raising arms to shoulder height, and pulling elbows back, coupled with arching the back.
Almost 8, in second grade at St. Mary in Huntington Indiana. The principal, who was a Sister Of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration, put the news on the p.a. system after a brief announcement. At some point we were sent home early.
An interesting sidelight from looking at newspapers saved from the time; that was the day Huntington switched from all operator-assisted telephone calling-”Number, please?”-to dial.
I was in fifth grade Our Principal came on he PA and announced that President Kennedy had been SHOT. That work SHOT was like a bullet through my body......
Boy, that Oswald guy!
What a shot!
What a shooter!
6.5 italian carcano advertised in kleins of chicago for 9.95, with scope 12.95..american rifleman...
Another nincompoop president who got rolled by the soviets.
Those comments really harken back to a day when the American public was so naive (willfully naive, I might add) that they would believe all the sh!t the media told them.

Nothing has changed.
First grade for me. I lived in Denton, TX, 40 miles north of Dealey Plaza. Oswald’s niece was in my class. We didn’t know it at the time of course, but she never came back. I’ve been fascinated ever since. I’ve met four of the doctors in the ER at Parkland that day, including the one who removed JFK from the limo. I’ve met had the fortune to meet and talk to many of the other principle people that day. The majority, if not all, that I have met say the fatal shot came from the front.
I was in lunch when I heard. But I don't remember how I heard. I just remember running out of the cafeteria; and one of my classmates acting as a hall monitor asked me where "the fire was." I told her, "In Dallas," and continued on to wherever I was running to.
Not long after, the upper grades were gathered in the auditorium for an ad hoc assembly presentation. When the time came, it fell to the senior member of the faculty, Dr. Wells, to enter from the rear of the auditorium and announce to everyone from the left aisle that the President had died; and we were to return to our hoomrooms for early dismissal.
Upon returning home, I found my mother doing some ironing. She had no idea what had happened and was surprised to see me home before the usual time. All this was straighted out pretty quickly and our television was turned on and stayed on.

Same here. I remember hearing it over the loudspeaker announcing he was shot in Texas.
I had this vision of him wearing a cowboy hat and being involved in a six gun shootout.
Hey, I was eight years old and into Saturday morning Western movies!
My parents were in the car going from their wedding ceremony to wedding reception!
She stood in front of the class and said the President had been shot. She was in front of the class and to my right.
I will never forget that.
Yellow sweater and checked yellow, black and brown skirt. Wasn't gaudy. Just a small print check.
Our current governor here in New Jersey was seriously injured in a car accident a few years ago while his State Police driver was speeding on the Garden State Parkway to get to an event somewhere in the state.
I couldn't find five people in this state who even gave a sh!t if the guy would survive his injuries.
So many interesting recollections of that horrible day. Thanks to everyone who shared their memories.
I was 13 months old, my brother was born a week after the shooting.
For years, I’ve encouraged my father to vote. My mother always does. But Dad just won’t. Finally last year, after he didn’t vote again, he blurted out “The last president I voted for was John F. Kennedy.”
I’ve heard that these days, a lot of JFK’s policies, would be considered to be conservative. For example his lowering of taxes to improve the economy. The democrat party of old, is nothing like they are today.
I think Dad was so shaken by the violent death of President Kennedy, that he just chucked the whole idea of voting. He never said that, but that’s what I think.
I am sure the subsequent murder of Robert Kennedy, and the loss of MLK jr. also added to the sense uselessness in voting.
I don’t agree with dear old Dad of course, and I consider voting to be my duty as an American who owes her freedom to our military and other patriots.
But I could really feel Dad’s disgust at how the man he voted for was assassinated.
I will keep trying to get him to vote. After seeing “TIME” on the counter at the folk’s house, I got them “The Limbaugh Letter”. Perhaps that will get Dad interested in politics again.
There was a 2 hour History Channel show on last night about the day of the assassination. It had lots of news footage. I was again struck by the composure of Mrs. Kennedy.
There were some details of that day, I’d not heard before, like the scuffle over the possession of the body while in the Dallas hospital. The Dallas coroner insisted that the autopsy must be performed there, and Kennedy’s people wanted to get the body on AF One and back to the east coast. Kennedy’s people won.

Fourth grade here, Catholic school. Mother Superior came over the loudspeaker to tell us Kennedy was shot “in Dallas, while riding in his motorcade.” Our teacher, Miss McDonough, started crying. Shortly after came another announcement that he had died. We were immediately let out of school.
I had never heard of the word “motorcade”, and was imagining Kennedy riding in a motorcycle sidecar.
Just curious to know if he likes the Limbaugh Letter.
Well, thanks for asking! I haven’t really talked to him about it. They’ve been getting it for about 4 months now. My mom was apologetic when I teased her about having a subscription to Time. She said “It was cheap.” She knows I’m her political daughter and prone to notice things like TIME on her counter. They are sometimes amused by my exuberance for politics. Dad has teased me and said he voted for Obama.
They don’t have satellite TV or even an internet hook up. I told Mom that Time was only fit to be used for TP! Hey the comment just slipped out, I couldn’t help it! I said I’d look for something better for them.
I’d gotten The Letter before, but since I listen everyday, The Letter was redundant for me.
I am hoping since The Letter is not lengthy, and has little in the way of wasted space and is entertaining, that it might get Dad and Mom more interested in politics.
It really irks me that Dad won’t vote. At least he finally told me why last year. I think it was at Thanksgiving when he told me last year, right after the horrible election results.
I hate having a conservative like him, sit out elections. The dems are so much better at election turnout.
Our state of Wisconsin, has had some narrow margins of victory for the democrats. And we have lots of voter fraud too. If not for fraud and conservatives sitting it out, we’d have a better state, and our state would have went republican in some of the recent presidential elections. Milwaukee and Madison are well-known for their voter fraud, with Milwaukee being the worst.
So, that was a long answer....short answer is “ I don’t know, I should ask him!”.
Cheers!
