Just great, lug around heavy batteries to hold the feeble charge that piezoelectrics give. Not to mention the air drag the panels will cause.
That's why combustion engines have magnetos, and alternators!
Just another distraction, from the solution staring us in the face.

The best way to conserve energy in a vehicle is to make it as aerodynamic as possible. These chips will cause more drag and net energy loss as they can not be 100% efficient.
I think these boys skipped their classes in Thermodynamics and they damn sure know nothing about boundary layer effect as related to drag and energy loss.
