Each human being is created in the likeness of God ...

Oh?

What about SETH; and all those who follow his lineage?

Genesis 5

 1.  This is the written account of Adam's line.   When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God.
 2.  He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them "man. "
 3.  When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth.
 4.  After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.
 5.  Altogether, Adam lived 930 years, and then he died.
 6.  When Seth had lived 105 years, he became the father  of Enosh.
 7.  And after he became the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters.
 8.  Altogether, Seth lived 912 years, and then he died.

I do wish you ANTIs would just QUIT using words from my beloved LDS Organization® to point out seemingly contradictory teachings.

However, if Romney wins the nomination, will you vote for him?

Kinda depends on who is running against him; doesn't it?

Clearly, the Catholic belief is that there are NOT many paths to eternal salvation.

Man!!

You sure posted a LOT of words just to say THIS!!

Matthew 7:13-14
13. "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
14. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Well, not really. In today’s era of relativism and over 25,000 brands of Christianity, a tour de force presentation by Cardinal Ratzinger is hard to beat.

Excellant statement you made here. I concur. However, I have found over the years people are less and less willing to hear, let alone debate reasonably. This has not stopped me from speaking out, but the ‘climate’ has surely altered from just a few years back. Good post...thanks.

With near certainty, would it not be either BHO or HRC?

Nope; they are done for. We have learned just how effective RIDICULE is now!

I like the cartoon, but do you really think that the dem nominee will be someone other than BHO or HRC in 2012?

And he always agrees with those “much more qualified” people? Wouldn’t that make him a follower as opposed to an independent thinker?

I hope it isn't me that your are talking about because if you are then you are full of, none of us here is required to answer personal questions and only a troll that was trying to hijack a thread would continue persisting with such a personal inquiry.

Buck W. you lied again if you were supposed to be quoting me because I never made that statement but it is amusing for a Mormon to be calling a someone a follower.

Are you deliberately trying to be obtuse?

The people of today are created in God’s image. Mormons included. Let’s just talk about all the people born since the time of Christ, shall we?

Not a very reasoned or persuasive response to all my quotes from the Bible illustrating that Christ and the Apostles asked us to treat our fellow man with dignity, whatever his situation or status.

I think we’ve reached the end of our discussion, Tennessee Nana. I am saying that with as much dignity and respect as I can muster for you, because even you deserve it.

I never suffer from doubt and by extension have no use for paranoia.

Nice try though...

As for your agenda let’s just say that there is nothing new under the Romneybot sun however I am still a fan of the old “not voting for Romney is a vote for Obama” schtick...

I’d say it’s fine to tell people they are wrong. Stephen is quoting the Old Testament in calling the Jews “stiff-necked” as God Himself did. Paul is calling them foolish and questioning them. That’s a far cry from the type of ridicule some “Christians” on this thread heap on others.

I have not cherry picked. See Matthew 25: 31-46 for what Christ Himself says about the value He places on our treatment of others. Whenever He speaks of judgment, He makes it clear that we must give others dignity and respect. I can find many, many passages to support my view. Read the parable of the Good Samaritan again. The Samaritans were misguided, but Christ still applauded the misguided Samaritan’s charity and was disgusted by the Pharisee who followed the Law to the letter and had such disdain for his misguided brother.

I repeat: judgment is reserved for God. I am repulsed by the arrogance, pride, and conceit evidenced by some of the responses on this thread. It’s all sound and fury signifying nothing. Who do you think is convinced of the error of their ways when they read the kind of “witness” they see here? I doubt the real goal is conversion or evangelization. I feel the goal of many is to simply spout their own beliefs and set themselves up as little Christs. In their own minds, they are the only ones who understand Scripture and they feel they are uniquely qualified to render judgment on others.

The Holy Spirit gives each of us unique gifts. Each of us is dear to God, even when we are wandering and lost. Our Shepherd awaits with LOVE, MERCY, and justice.

No, I stated that Mormons are wrong about Catholics. I also stated I think some of the “Christians” on this thread are exceeding their authority and judging others. Judgment is Christ’s alone.

I am perfectly willing to discuss what I believe and I can back it up with Scripture passages, since that is what Protestants seem to value most of all. Christ was tolerant of tax collectors, sinners, prostitutes and others who did not yet fully understand His message. I believe tolerance is allowing each person to have dignity and treat them with respect. I have no problem telling them where we disagree on doctrine. As I said, I often greet Mormon missionaries at the door with a smile and my own Bible. We have nice discussions. I let them know I am very happy to be a Catholic. They walk away knowing that I was not convinced— but that I wasn’t rude about it.

Of course there are absolute Truths. I do not turn a blind eye. I believe what St. Francis said, “Preach the Gospel at all times and, when necessary, use words.”
