I have the configuration in mind … just wondering if I should buy now or wait a month and see what is offered in the new year? Newer computers and all that.

If you need one before January, then it may almost be a now-or-never thing since inventories tend to deplete over the next week or two... and often don't get restored until early-mid January. I don't want to oversell that point, but it's not unheard of.

Oh, one more thing: the monitor prices I’ve seen lately are unreal!... 22-24” LCD’s for the low $100’s... I got a Samsung 24” that’s both monitor and TV for $250 at buy.com. Heck the monitors are a better deal than the PC’s are right now.
