That’s what I was thinking....
Well, I'm not sure if I'd put it quite as benignly as that. But, be that as it may, no it doesn't make him an awful guy. But, as the author of the piece points out, it makes him something quite contrary to what the media and commercial establishment wanted us to believe he was - perfect.
Whatever problems Tiger and his Wife faced last week, he's only compounding them now. There's a a sentiment of populist outrage in America right now - rich people getting away with things the average wouldn't. While an attorney would tell him to keep his mouth shut, in the long run, that might be the worse decision he could make.
IF the rumors are true, he is not the first person to cheat on his spouse. I would guess a fair number of Freepers have done the same. The Woods family is not the first family to have a free for all after a holiday. Neither Woods is the first to smash something (if rumors are true) in a fit of anger.
None of the above justifies whatever went on..it is just not that big of a story.
How many times have we read “Never talk to the cops unless you have a lawyer.” BOR just described it as ‘evading a police investigation.’
I am more concerned with how & why the FHP became involved in this. It is a private, gated community in a town with it’s own police force. If this happened in my neighbrhood, the Sheriff would show up. I would be hard pressed to imagine why the State Patrol would appear.
If they saw a report and decided to become involved just because it was Tiger Woods, they are responsible for driving this story. I am not sure about Florida Law. If there is a good reason maybe someone can enlighten me.
