He’s not a great actor, but his martial arts skills are for real - reaching 7th dan in Aikido is no small feat. He could literally rip your arm off and beat you with the wet end.

Yeah, that Aikido is used a lot in combat sports...the proving ground of all martial arts. Wait...no it isn't.

If he did rip my arm off and beat me with it, he'd be violating the sacred Aikido code...which he appeared to do quite often in his movies...so you see on the field of honor I would win, even though he had my arm.

"Aikido (合気道, aikidō?) is a Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba as a synthesis of his martial studies, philosophy, and religious beliefs. Aikido is often translated as "the Way of unifying (with) life energy"[1] or as "the Way of harmonious spirit."[2] Ueshiba's goal was to create an art that practitioners could use to defend themselves while also protecting their attacker from injury."

Aikido is about as real as Jeet Kune Do. I challenge you to find a single video of people actually sparring, or competing using Aikido. Everything you will find, be it in TMA magazines or videos on the internet, will be master and student choreographed dance routines.
