I've been reading about our "bigotry" in desiring that our children (generic: I have none, love a few, and care about all) not be indoctrinated with the homosexual agenda, or indeed with certain elements of the scinece curriculum (dealing with climate, or origins, or what have you).
This morning I saw this thread from last night: "Judge: Parents bigots for opposing 'gay' lessons ". Something occurred to me just then, and I thought to reply on the thread; but given its age I thought better to post afresh this morning.
(May those who are offended by Vanities forgive me.)
Here it is:
"Force-feeding our children this material is like force-feeding bacon to a Jew-- or a Muslim. It is that offensive to us."
Has anyone tried this argument, in court or out?
It could be expanded upon, thus: "At least if you force-feed bacon to a person, he may digest it and excrete it and then seek what purification he may find; our children's minds cannot be so easily purged."
Well there it is. May it be useful.
I agree with the posting.
Your thought may be true but they don’t give a rat’s ass about offending you.
Indoctrinating the children takes them from you and that is what is important, the goal. The reason for being progressive is to eradicate your anachronistic beliefs and destroy all you hold dear.
Thinking and saying will not win the war. Only direct forceful action will cleanse America of the cancer that is libreralism. Deep and painful chemotherapy couples with spot on radiation and surgery is needed to do the job.
I personalize the statement because the solution must takehold at the very personal level.
Things have come to a pretty pass when parents have to resort to subterfuge to defend their children against premature instruction in such matters.
Once upon a time, people simply knew and understood that discussing such things with minors was both unhealthy and immoral.
Clearly, those days are gone.
Of course, religious Jews and religious Muslims oppose BOTH sex perversion and bacon-eating. Are you willing to work with Muslim allies? (Serious question.)
I am. On this issue, I am.
Kids should be studying the Constitution, & the Bill of Rights, critical thinking, research and math before they can go on to electives.
The line gets fine when it comes to beliefs. Philosophy and economics are examples of beliefs. Beliefs should be kept out of courses unless they compare all different types of similar related beliefs.
Comparison of religious beliefs of all types could be electives, but never required, courses. Practice of religious teachings, sexual practices do not belong in a curriculum.
My kids are 11 and 12 and I can’t believe how many of their assignments involve climate change, slavery, global warming, other cultures, native Americans. It is a full-time job to counter what the kids are “learning” in school.
