I used to fly once to three times a week for business.
My last flight was February, 2002, I believe. The incompetence of the federal government and the airlines is beyond my tolerance for stupidity.
What's that thing weigh? 15 lbs?
Eight.
LOL - That’s funny!
The author is an idiot, I hope he learned from this.
“I always put a large 6 oz. bag of dessicant, a moisture absorber used to keep moisture out of large underground telco cable splices, in my camera bag.”
This has got to be the funniest post of the week on Freepers, LOL!!!!
Per crash, no. Per mile, traveling by car is far more dangerous.
Based on the Bureau of Transportation Statistics numbers (http://www.bts.gov/publications/national_transportation_statistics/), U.S. commercial airliners from 1990-2007 had about one fatality per 4.7 billion passenger miles; passenger cars, one per 118 million passenger miles.
And the airliner numbers are skewed higher by the anomaly of 9/11; nearly a third of the fatalities in those 18 years were in 2001 alone.
What the heck does the sickening sound of his new Macbook crashing on the concrete floor because he was too distracted and idiotic to be sure the bag was securely closed, have to do with crummy airline service and a “revolution” against those evil airlines??? Hello? The security person is not a representative of the airline.
Whine and Moan... ugh. Just be responsible. Duh...
