This story is fake, there are no guns in Britain.

As this was in britain, I’m quite surprised the man wasn’t charged with assault for headbutting the punk and wrongful imprisonment for restraining him.

Comply and die often seems to be the preferred method of dealing with crim...er...disadvantaged youths in old blighty.

There is an old tradition of head butting in England. Those who specialize in street fighting with head butts are called “nutters”. It has long been outlawed in boxing.

To quote Eli Wallach in The Good, The Bad and the Ugly: “If you’re going to shoot, shoot! Don’t talk.”

The report talks about the perp getting stabbed. I didn’t see that in the film. Did anyone else?

That was a pretty good weapon takeaway, under the circumstances. Great presence of mind to push the firearm off-line, and then to keep his body off-line thru the grapple.

For the perp, yet another reason why using two hands on your firearm is better.

I’ve looked and looked thru the film and cannot see the point at which the firearm “disappears” — anyone??

The gun was "spirited away" during the melee, and is still missing.

You can see who picked it up right on the video.

Either the pedestrians on that busy city street were very lucky or it was a stage gun firing blanks. The story doesn’t mention whether it was an actual firearm or not. I can clearly see the weapon discharge at approximately 6 seconds into the video...the report said two shell casings were found.

Also, the description of events by the news story doesn’t match the video.

“He was then confronted by Drewitt, who held a silver gun to his head and told him three or four times: “I am going to shoot you!”

Bernadette Baxter, prosecuting, said the man was “frozen to the spot” as the chilling incident on May 24 unfolded.

She added: “The man had the presence of mind to walk forward and head-butt the youth.”

The video is edited and begins after their confrontation was already underway. But he never appeared to freeze, and he didn’t “walk forward and headbutt” the slimeball. He was walking as the video begins, then as he gets close enough he makes a grab for the pistol while the guy has it to his face. They then begin to grapple and it is unclear to me when exactly the pistol was lost. But he headbutts him after they begin to grapple. It is amusing to see the skinny little punk go limp after he loses his “gun” and the ass kicker has him by the lapels. He looks like a chastised puppy.

Ballsy move, either way. Too bad he couldn’t have beat on the punk a little more. It says that the man and his wife have moved from the area/city...apparently due to fear of retaliation. I guess that’s what you do when it is illegal to arm yourself.
