The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 28% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -12 (see trends).
With just one exception in each direction, the number who Strongly Disapprove has stayed between 38% and 41% every day for a month.
In a conversation with Politico.com, Scott Rasmussen noted that the current job approval numbers do not tell us anything about the presidents chances in 2012. But, he added, they are meaningful for congressional Democrats and the ratings have some implications for legislative issues along the way. In terms of the United States overall, 30% now believe the country is heading in the right direction.
