Seriously? who cares? You cant just take steroids and “get big”. you still have to have proper nutrition and diet to make it work. On the flip side, it is perfectly legal and accepted to get breast implants, calf implants, botox, augmentation surgery, liposuction, etc.... i am tired of hearing about steroids. most juice users are health nuts, whereas most of the other cosmetic surgery people don’t do a dam thing about their health and expect a magic pill or surgery. legalize it and put it under doctors control.

Back in 1997:
FROM THE ARCHIVE MONDAY, APRIL 14TH 1997: IN THE chill of evening, as fresh winds brushed the pines of Augusta National, Tiger Woods realised his destiny yesterday by becoming the first black player to win the US Masters. And as we watched a record-shattering performance, there was an awareness of something very special – of a talent that may not be matched for another generation.

If admiration is to be measured by the status of the admirer, then Jack Nicklaus captured the essence of an astonishing achievement. “Tiger is out there playing another game,” said the six-times winner of this title. “He’s playing a golf course he’ll own for a long time.”

One suspects he will also retain possession of some remarkable scoring figures. As if playing to order, he sank a four-foot par putt on the last green to card the 69 he needed for an 18-under-par aggregate of 270 – one stroke inside the target set by Nicklaus in 1965 and matched by Raymond Floyd on the old Bermuda greens 11 years later.

His 12-shot margin over second-placed Tom Kite, was also a record – three strokes better than Nicklaus managed 32 years ago. At 21, he became the youngest winner of the title, surpassing the achievement of 23-year-old Seve Ballesteros in 1980. And, of course , he is the first black winner of a major championship.

On a broader basis, the only player to surpass his margin of victory was Old Tom Morris, and that was way back in the 1862 British Open, which he won by 13 strokes. More realistically, in the four majors this century, nobody has secured a margin in double figures.

He doesn't look that big to me. He did put on some size over the years but I never noticed big fluctuations in his physique like most other steroid users.

Why the Hell would someone need steroids in golf?

Getting to the green in 2 strokes, consistently, is tiring.

Steroids help your muscles recover faster, would definitely give anybody an edge, especially in multi-day tournaments.

I have seen men get much bigger and quicker naturally, that slide show proves nothing. i used to work with a fellow who was in natural only body building competitions who got much bigger than woods in a much shorter amount of time.

LOL! Is this Nike, Gillette and other sponsor employees night. The fan boys keep supporting the adulterer and juicer.

Yeah right. His Nike equipment is all hand made and not the Nike crap they sell in the store. Supposedly his real irons are total copies of Titleist 755 irons.

I’ve said it a hundred times, if he was a used car salesman and Elen worked at the local Dairy Queen she wouldn’t have given him the time of day.

You're right. All over the world, supermodels are married to good-looking used car salesmen with no money. They're poor, but happy.

The PGA rules say no juicing. It you are doing ROIDs then you are cheating but to a person like you it is a “who cares” issue.

Tiger is so much like Obama. Tiger fan boys are so much like Obama voters.

Good question, triple E.

Perhaps he was taking the roids for all of that Putt Putt he was playing with those young girls.

You just proved that men age from years 18 to 33. Congratulations. Some of us choose to work out and take care of ourselves during all of or part of that time, others don’t. I went from being a long hair to short hair to bald during those same year as well as gaining pounds along the way. Wait till you find out what happens during your forties, especially if you choose not to work out.

Do you have any evidence at all whatsoever that he has ever used any PEDs? Oh, I see. A slide show showing a 33 year old athlete more muscular than his 18 year old self. Who could have doubted. Jumping to conclusions, wildly divergent from reality, because your prejudices lead you that way? Who's like Obama again?

I was just in your state doing a business deal which will be very sweet. 2009 sucks because of Obamaa but I have created more opportunities this year than I ever have.

If I had time to go to the gym I could look better then him in a month. The forearms are impossible without steroids.

This is the longest hitter on the golf tour. The guy is as strong as a bull but those are golf gym forearms and biceps.

Quiros “He has topped the driving distance list the past two seasons in Europe and is averaging 315.56 yards this season.”

Tiger averages about 299.

No fan of Tiger. Cant stand golf. This issue just bothers me. nobody has a problem with the lazy way of modifying their body, but the thought of ROIDS which takes hard work gets people in a tizzy.

‘Roid and rHGH use have other problems as well. My business partner used to play NFL, had seen Lyle Azado, a major juicer at the time, and nuts. Azado later got brain cancer which he attributed to being on the juice.

2 years ago Gary Player said that he had knowledge of pro golfers on HGH,

Gary Player insisted today that he would not expose two professional golfers who he claims told him they had used performance-enhancing drugs. The South African legend stirred controversy at the British Open in July when he claimed that two pros told him they had used human growth hormone. Several top golfers — including his countrymen, Ernie Els and Retief Goosen — quickly dismissed Player’s claims of drug abuse in golf, but the PGA Tour quickly announced that drug testing would begin in 2008.

In an exclusive interview with Golf.com from Austin, Texas, on Tuesday morning, Player says the two golfers in question had come to him for advice. “They said, ‘We’d like to discuss this with you but would give us your solemn word that you will never discuss this with anybody?” the 72-year-old, nine-time major championship winner said. “And I said, ‘Yes, I give you my word.’ And they said, “Well, we tried these growth hormones. What do you think?’ And I said, ‘I think you shouldn’t [use them] in my opinion.’ I said, ‘It can only do you harm. Athletes are dying all around the world like flies. Don’t dare try any of this.’”

Since making his explosive claims at this summer’s British Open in Carnoustie, Scotland, Player has refused to name the players or even say where his conversations with them took place. “Imagine me turning around and giving up those names,” Player said today. “Those guys would be crucified for the rest of their lives.”

His comments were widely dismissed by golf’s biggest stars, several of whom claimed Player ought to name names or shut up. “If he wants to damage the sport by starting to say things like that, then he must come out and say it,” snapped Goosen, a two-time U.S. Open winner. “He mustn’t make these half comments.”

Today Player said Goosen “didn’t fully understand the situation” and that he had spoken up for the good of the game. “I’m trying to make sure that golf stays a clean sport,” Player said. “I feel that I’m able to contribute by bringing this out.”

Player also said today that nine separate doctors have advised him to take human growth hormones (HGH) to gain strength. He said one physician in Jacksonville, Fla., advised both him and New Zealand golfer Bob Charles to begin taking HGH. Player said he and Charles were together when the doctor made the recommendation, and both men dismissed it. “
