Senator Patty Murray (Wa). just said on TV of how proud she was for 1st Boeing 787 flight, Boeing employees and asked how Alabama could size up to that? What does that mean? Did she mean to refer to S. Carolina?
I understand that a combination of flexible wings and active computer control will make turbulence far less noticeable, on the 787, than on earlier aircraft. The wings and control surfaces will be very busy indeed, while the cabin just keeps moving along in a straight line.
I just hope they nail the specs on max utility catagory maneuvering speeds. Straight and level is one thing , I think I’d just stick to slip and skid. I’ll leave the banking to more antiquated designs thank you!
Sure have! This is different. I don’t know if I should embrace it or fear it. The B-52 flexes a lot, but doesn’t have an exponential curl away from the wing root.
Y-day morning about 10am pst, a 787 took off from Boeings airfield, marking the first flight of the 787.
I watched it on web cam and guess what, it was just another airplane taking off. They said 7,000 people were watching it live. The crowd looked more like 400 people.

There were almost 18,000 along the runway and I watched it live from a building nearby.
The commentator said that it did not look like a passenger plane on the inside. There were computers upon computers in racks, all collecting data. I’d bet there were.

Hey, lay off our Mongoloid Mama. It takes a village to run the Senate, and she’s the idiot.
Anybody who has a clue about Washington state knows there isn’t a hope in hell of defeating her. The balance between the populist rural areas and red flag cities is irretrievably broken. like Vietnam, the commies won. We’re stuck with Patty until she hangs up her tennis shoes, and shuffles off to the retirement home for aged mouth breathers.
She was neck and neck with Biden when he was there.
I’m surprised it took so long to get Boxer’s name in there.
