Senator Patty Murray (Wa). just said on TV of how proud she was for 1st Boeing 787 flight, Boeing employees and asked how Alabama could size up to that? What does that mean? Did she mean to refer to S. Carolina?
Who knows? Now that Biden is Vice-President, Patty Murray is officially the stupidest member of the US Senate. No one can make sense of her incoherent mutterings. She is beatable in 2010 if the useless Washington Republican party can come up with a good candidate.
EADS tanker contract stuff.
Who knows, I doubt she even knows Boeing makes planes the way the Democrats here have treated that company.
I kinda thought of that after I posted, thanks!
About as dumb as joe saying “Stand up Chuck”!
Don’t worry, they will get that too. The fix is in.
If Alabama was asked, Alabama would answer. And you wouldn’t like the answer, either, Patty.
She’s probably referring to the Airbus factory planned for Alabama if they win the Air Force tanker award. But on the other hand, given the stupidity that is almost a job requirement for the U.S. Senate, she could have meant the Boeing production line in South Carolina, too, and just got the state wrong.
Biden, at best, had a two year run as "dumbest senator with a penis" between the time Mark Dayton retired in 2004 and Bob Casey, Jr. was elected in 2006.
Who cares, it was one of the 57 states.
The woman is as dumb as a box of hammers.
I can’t comprehend states that continue to send their worst and dumbest back to the senate every 6 years.
According to my wife, she heard that Alabama is now asking for an apology.
Or if the Washington Tea Party organization picks somebody good for the Republican Primary, and simply bypasses the official Rep Party organization.
We need to clean house of useless Party officials.
Isn’t she the genius who commended OBL for building hospitals and schools?
Another blithering idiot.
She could probably do less damage by going back to teaching pre-school. At least then the damage could be somewhat contained.
Especially stupid, given that Boeing has a huge rocket facility in Decatur, Alabama and a strong presense at MSFC in Huntsville, Alabama.
Did anyone notice the wing flex on that empty flight? A rough estimate is that they flexed a good ten feet once the weight of the fuselage was applied to the wing root when the wheels were off the ground. I’d hate to see the flex @ max gross weight!
I think they are supposed to flex, plus they did a stress test on the wing and it passed. It sure flexed though!
The wiring, hydraulics, and fuel lines must be on pulleys and coils. I’m not saying the design isn’t sound, but it sure is dramatic. No wonder they taxied so slow! The thing would flap like a giant seagull! I bet you could scrape the wingtips with a few good bounces at 2 to 3 knots.
Indeed they are! I have seen a wing flex test, on a different aircraft with composite wings. They were actually pulled tip to tip, to form a circle, without damaging the wings. Obviously, that will never happen in flight, but it's good to know that the equipment will do more than will ever be required.
