Fear, self-interest, & honor? If this really happened, I'd be much more receptive and accepting, although I want more proof of the time travel, I'm willing to wave that and listen. My first action, if it was me, would be tell him to wait for a sec while I get my 1970's era tape recorder and shove a tape and 4 C batteries into it and then talk.

Wish I had resources, I'd let him take a few crates of M1 Garands, M1911A1's and ammo with him.
