Josh Cribbs of the Cleveland Browns has returned two kickoffs for touchdowns against Kansas City, breaking and then extending the NFL career record.

After his 100-yard return in the first quarter broke the league record, the 6-foot-1, 215-pound veteran sped 103 yards in the second quarter.

His first return of the day was the seventh of his five-year career and broke the record he had shared with five others.

On that one, he broke free from at least six players who got their hand on him. In his second, he took the ball 3 yards deep in the end zone, cut left, then right and was hardly touched. The 103-yard return was a yard short of the Browns record. Cleveland's 269 yards in returns were a team record.

Cribbs came into the season with five touchdown returns of kickoffs and had a 98-yard return against Pittsburgh on Oct. 18.

Cribbs had been tied with Dante Hall, Gale Sayers, Mel Gray, Travis Williams and Ollie Matson.

The two returns in a game tied the league record.

Absolutely - nothing like watching a game in the snow in old Municipal Stadium on a black and white set.

It was a nail biter and Phillip Rivers deserves a much better offensive line, but they won and they won their division, so I’m happy.

Thanks BenLurkin. I’m glad you watched and enjoyed the game too.

The Chargers are the local team for all of SoCal.

Heck, even living back east as a kid we rooted for John Hadl and those UCLA style uniforms.

Ah, then you knew the Hadl to Alworth routine!

The Chargers used to play in Balboa Stadium, which served as my high school’s stadium too, so I’ve loved the team since they first came to town from Los Angeles. We’d get to see the players up close, but of course, we weren’t allowed onto the field while they were there.

Cribbs is a God-send! Without him we would be truly dismal. I do see a little hope for next year, and with an AWESOME new G.M. I see a big light at the end of a very long tunnel. I just want Brady to prove that he belongs with the big boys...he hasn’t shown me yet that he can shine. A few more recievers would help me decide.
