Meet the mini Monet: Seven-year-old boy sells paintings for £900 each
Daily Mail ^ | December 30, 2009 | Patrick Barkham

He paints six pictures a week and his last exhibition sold out in 14 minutes...Kieron Williamson kneels on the wooden bench in his small kitchen, takes a pastel from the box by his side and rubs it onto a piece of paper.

'Have you got a picture in your head of what you're going to do?' asks his mother, Michelle. 'Yep,' Kieron nods. 'A snow scene.' I ask: because it is winter at the moment? 'Yep.' Do you know how you want it to come out? 'Yep.' And does it come out how you want it? 'Sometimes it does.'

The kid has more talent than 99.99% of so-called "artists" in today's world, including the crap currently in the White House.

Last time a story about this kid was posted, they called him a “mini-Picasso.” The Monet comparison is closer, but his art work is actually very much more like Pisarro’s. Agree with you about some of the crap in the White House. Amazing that BO and company are incompetent when it comes to national security and domestic policy, and are so incompetent they can’t even identify truly great art, despite having the entire National Gallery to choose from.

This month, Kieron's second exhibition in a gallery in his home town of Holt, Norfolk, sold out in 14 minutes. The sale of 16 new paintings swelled his bank account by £18,200.

There are now 680 people on a waiting list for a Kieron original. Art lovers have driven from London to buy his work.

Amazing story. The kid needs to raise his prices.

Savant skills are always pretty amazing. Sometimes the divine makes some children wise since so many adults are fools.

It seems as if Monet has been reincarnated.

Love his skies!
I like the remark about him getting bored with an XBox! LOL

I agree. I, of course, am no “expert”, but I do know what I like, and I like this kid's work. I hope he doesn't get warped into an “artist”.

God gave him a clear gift and he has found it. God gives us all a gift, and we spend much time not knowing what it is. If ever we find it.

Thank You, Father, for Your amazing blessings, in Jesus name, amen.

Wow, there are a lot of different looks in just the few pictures in the article. The farmer figures in the windmill painting look very Van Gogh-ish.

Amazing talent, doesn’t seem too taken with his skills, and is still going and learning from other artists.

Stay away from the booze and drugs later in life kid, and you can be one of the best for a long, long time.

How about a more cheerful Van Gogh?

Perhaps a young Renoir?

No matter who he’s compared to, the young man has quite the talent.

I love it when someone like this comes along and sticks a proverbial thumb in the eye of so-called “modern” artists.

There is a timeless quality to true art and this kid appears to have the gift.

Incredible for age 7. The seaside scene is as good as 95% impressionistic art out there right now. Just imagine in 10-20 years.

Impressionistic art? It’s obvious to me that the kid needs glasses. That’s why his paintings look so blurry.
