My Vote for most infuriating quote from the article:

Meanwhile, the White House was working overtime to build a case against Bush. A source in the White House counsel’s office told The American Spectator of memos frantically seeking information that would “show that the Bush Administration had had far worse missteps than we ever could”.

That was the money quote for me, too. The article is great, the comments are amazing. Looks like a lot of Americans read British newspapers. I guess the Brits are just like us in one respect: the folks are a lot smarter than the people they elect.

Let’s face facts, it is Obama’s domestic agenda that is threatened by terrorism. It is for that reason only that this administration will take matters a bit more seriously.

However, given liberals’ track record on security, the terrorists will have plenty of opportunities.

Excellent summary of the press’ attitude!

As for the “politicization” of security, that was entirely the fault of the Dems. They had about 15 minutes after 9/11 where they were shocked enough to remember that they were Americans first and Bush-haters second. But once they got over that, it was a constant attack, particularly on things where Bush was successful, such as security. And the press was out there waving their banners for them.
