Houston elected an openly gay mayor. Inauguation live on C-Span. She was just sworn in with a female at her side.

I just came by this since I still had C-Span on TV. Joel Osteen was speaking at the ceremony of two mayor inaugurations. Houston and Atlanta.

The Mayor was officially sworn in on Jan. 2, 2010 as required by City Code. The public inauguration today is for public consumption.

Yeah, I read that in research. I've had enough public consumption of the diverse love fest. Since I haven't tuned it off, I must be in need of punishment. We as citizens vote “these” people in office then we get lectured on how the nation needs to be more accepting and less divisive.
