Without making the jump to the article, in the former case, the woman who called 911 had ordered McNuggets, PAID for McNuggets, and then told “choose something else” because they didn’t HAVE McNuggets and REFUSED to give her a refund. That’s bait and switch. A crime in business practices.
The manager handled it wrong. She was wrong to call 911 but she was within her rights to call law enforcement to file a grievance against the business for their operation. She needed a non-emergency number. And her case would’ve gone for days without any attention.
There are times I drop my last cash at a counter to get something to eat and I can say that I’d be upset too if they got my money and then refused to give me the product or a refund and told me “get something else, same price”.
Yep, it sure seems to be a stupid way to run a business.
In the past when I have purchased food near the closing time I have been lucky enough to get a counter clerk that asked the kitchen if they had what I wanted before taking my money.
