I suspect that man is going to crap this all up anyway. Canceling a jobs event to focus on voodooland. That’s not going to help anything.
You do realize that at the time of the earthquake there were at least 4,000 US Citizens in Haiti, that’s more than the number of people who perished on 9/11.
It is all propaganda to create the image that he is personally directing the relief efforts. Canceling the jobs event is just part of the smokescreen. He could have attended it and still performed the same role as he is doing now, i.e., a figurehead.
