Video: Vikings throw late TD in blowout, Brooking goes after Favre

Did the Minnesota Vikings run up the score on the Dallas Cowboys in Sunday's NFC divisional playoff? Keith Brooking(notes) thinks so. A late Brett Favre(notes) touchdown pass infuriated the Dallas linebacker, who charged over to the Vikings' sideline to voice his displeasure. And in his postgame press conference he didn't back down. The Vikings had held a comfortable 27-3 lead since the early part of the fourth quarter. Dallas looked completely deflated after going down 24 points and the team's subsequent play did nothing to dispel that notion. On the Cowboys' next two possessions the team went four-and-out, gaining a mere 14 yards on eight plays.

Jerry should move them to the Phillipines and rename them the “Manila Folders”.

I thought Rice “walking in” his last TD catch was low rent.

Evidently an item for which Ms. Brookings has a desperate need.

Actually, it means the offense isn’t playing so hot, either

Now that I agree. And if I were coaching a team any player that pulled a stunt like that would sit for the rest of the game. Score first, then celebrate.

The fans paid to see 60 minutes of football. Brooking only wanted to give them 50. Screw him and his poor delicate feelings.

I thought he was trying to burn as much time as he could off the clock.

I was sitting in the bar area of a local restaurant eating lunch on Thursday. I looked up and there was what I thought was John Walker's ugly traitorous mug staring back at me answering questions on ESPN. I did a double take and then realized I had NOT accidentally fallen on to some really weird space-time line and that really was the Vike coach.
Well Favre may well be the greatest QB to have ever played the game. To bad he left Green Bay in such a tawdry manner. Go Vikes !

I, on the other hand, was hoping he'd whip out a tablecloth and set up a picnic at the 1-yard line.

since jerry jones took over we have gone down the hill faster than any franchise.... and we are not at the bottom yet....

Cheer up. Al Davis could be your owner. The Raiders won't have a chance until that old vampire dies.

Brookings narcisist act wore thin in Atlanta and soon Dallas will get tired of it. I didn’t see much of the game but if Dallas doesn’t like the Vikings scoring TD’s maybe they should have done something about that like play some defense.

Let me remind you...The Cowboys won Super Bowl VI, XII, XXVII, XXVIII and XXX. They also played in and lost Super Bowl V, X, and XIII. How many of your teams have accmoplished that? Oh and...The team has earned the most postseason appearances (30, which includes another league record of 55 postseason games, winning 33 of them), the longest consecutive streak of winning seasons with 20, the most appearances in the NFC Championship Game (14), and the most Super Bowl appearances (8). The Cowboys have... played for 10 NFL Championships and have won five, all five being Super Bowls.

I hate all that crap.

During the Jets/San Diego first half, the Charger players had so many little dances they performed after making routine plays I though I might have tuned into the San Diego City Ballet by accident.

Kicking a field goal would have been “running up the score”. Taking a knee at that point and just turning the ball over to the Boys would have been ridiculous, and if I was the Cowboys I’d be insulted. The only other option was to run a freaking football play. They could either hand the ball off to a running back (who might just break loose and run the ball in for a TD), or they could pass the ball (which might be caught for a TD). So the Vikes called a freaking football play and it worked. I don’t understand what all the crybabying is about.

Back in the 50s when it was still a man’s game, you’d get your legs broken for pulling crap like that....from your own teammates.
