Well it seems that you have solved the problem of tenn haveing children out of wedlock, have one of the parents stay home.

And it’s also important to know your children well enough to know if they’re likely to be sleeping with scumbags like Levi Johnston (which really shouldn’t have been very hard, given that Bristol wasn’t sneaking around to see him, but bringing him home — and according to Sarah, telling her parents she planned to marry him, although anybody who’s been paying attention knows that was a bald-faced lie told as part of the emergency spin control effort). And if your teenage daughter is likely to be sleeping with guys like this, then you absolutely need to make sure she’s outfitted with passive contraceptives — IUD, Norplant, etc — something she can’t “forget”.
BS. Sarah has said she knew Bristol and Levi were dating, and said (lied) that they had been planning to get married even before the pregnancy occurred. Bristol was NOT sneaking around with Levi without her parents’ knowledge. There’s no evidence that Todd and Sarah were making any effort at all to prevent or minimize Bristol’s contact with Levi.
Do you have any reason beyond hearsay why they should have?
Do you have any reason beside Bristol's pregancy to conclude the time spent with her was insufficient?
That said, I think it's none of anybody's business to assume they know more about making important decisions for other people and how they should live their lives. We all make mistakes--including you--and we have to live with the consequences.
You don't have a clue why Bristol Palin made a decison to keep her baby.
I think it said a lot about the relationship when she and the idiot didn't get married before the birth.
A bigger question we should ask, IMO, why was this so important to the media? A lot more said about two teenagers than John Edwards and it was he---not his kid --who got somebody pregnant!
You’re assuming he’s going to make 6 figures this year and next year and...
He’s a one trick pony who will be in rehab or long term unemployment. $1750 a month WILL leave a big mark.
I don’t know what Sarah and Todd knew, since I’m not privileged to that information, and, quite frankly, don’t care. Its their problem. I’m just saying that you can’t guard your kids 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as much as one would like to. And, how is Bristol any different than most teenagers today? The difference is her mother was in the national spotlight.
Bristol made a mistake, and is now paying for that mistake. I do believe she’s learned a valuable lesson, however, a very difficult one.
Are you one of those rare highly favored parents that is able to assert and maintain absolute control over your teen-age daughter’s inter-personal associations? If so, my congratulations. That certainly qualifies you to render this adverse judgement against the Palin parents.
