Barack Obama will bring his green jobs message to hard-hit Ohio today. The president will push government-funded green jobs to the depressed communities. These jobs aren’t cheap. The Center for American Progress estimated that federal outlays of $100 billion over a two year period would create two million green jobs, or roughly one new position for every $50,000 spent by taxpayers. But that’s never stopped Obama before. Why should it stop him now? The AP reported:
President Barack Obama is telling voters in Ohio, already wracked by high unemployment, that investments in clean-energy technologies will help boost the nation’s economy.
Obama planned to use his visit Friday to test-drive an aggressive populist push on jobs, a top concern for voters across the country as the White House begins a message shift heading into fall elections expected to be difficult for Democrats.
Obama was meeting with voters in the northeast part of Ohio, where steel mills have given way to rust. Statewide, unemployment stands at 10.6 percent.

On the bright side, I've read that many community colleges aren't peddling the indoctrination to the level of higher universities and colleges. People are attending an actually getting an education there for a fraction of the cost without the worthless indoctrination. We will likely consider community colleges for our children rather than a major university. The smaller campus affords a better perspective of the quality of learning offered there. The marxists don't have as big an area to hide themselves.

I also thought about this a couple of days ago when Reid proudly touted getting some “green job” training money for Nevada.
I don’t see how this does anything other than give sorta job security to the “green-job” training industry (whatever the heck that might be) and give unemployed folks something different to do to kill time while probably raising false hopes for ‘em. If there was any market-driven (rather than regulation driven) demand for green job skills I’m sure any company that needed employees with that skill set would be able and willing to do the training themselves quickly. Doubt that most of it is “rocket science.”

You are right about the academic side of it. However, the atendees are lots of folks on the gov’t dole....very grateful for it and likely to agree with any plan to keep and increase their access to other peoples’ money

Obama must take time-outs for frequent laugh breaks when he tries to tell these audiences how many green jobs he’ll create. I’d like to think most Americans who voted for The Glorious Leader now realize it was a joke, and they’ve been had.
