New Product Announcements From GLOCK, Inc. at 2010 SHOT Show
PR Newswire ^ | Jan 20, 2009 | News Release

Posted on 01/22/2010 6:38:32 PM PST by smokingfrog

The GLOCK 22 Gen4 in .40 caliber and GLOCK 17 Gen4 (Generation 4) in 9x19 are featured in the #14049 GLOCK booth this week. The new Gen4 has several new features designed to satisfy the most demanding consumers.

Most noticeably, the Gen4 design has a multiple backstrap system that allows the user to change the circumference of the grip to fit their individual hand size. The grip has three options; a short frame version, medium frame or large frame that are easily changed and secured with a single pin.

The magazine release catch of the Gen4 is reversible and enlarged. The reversible magazine catch allow users to switch access of the catch to the left or right side of the pistol with no additional parts.

Internally, the original recoil spring has been replaced with a dual recoil spring assembly. The dual recoil spring assembly noticeably reduces the recoil while simultaneously increasing the life cycle of the pistol.

Additionally, the Gen4 has a new Rough Textured Frame (RTF) surface designed to enhance grip traction and is present on the frame as well as the interchangeable backstraps.

During recent grueling endurance testing and at the SWAT Round Up International competition, several police agencies had a chance to handle and shoot the new pistols and many positive comments were made about the design changes. Gary Fletcher, Vice President at GLOCK, Inc. mentioned that "GLOCK, Inc.'s dedication to perfection has made GLOCK the chosen firearm for many Law Enforcement agencies around the world. The Gen4 is just another step in GLOCK, Inc.'s commitment to producing the best firearm for Law Enforcement, Military, Federal Law Enforcement/Military and the law abiding citizen."

The Gen4, just like any GLOCK pistol, has the same time tested "Safe Action" system, durable exterior finish, cold hammer forged barrel, durability, reliability and light weight that make GLOCK firearms famous. All GLOCK pistols are backed by the GLOCK Limited Lifetime Warranty and world-class customer service and support that is second to none in the firearms industry.

looking at the new handgunner magazine this month and there’s a 1911A1 in there that has my bank account number written all over it !

Does yer club have or has ever had a Mogadishu Mile event ?

That’ll kill ya if your not ready for it !

That shotgun load question was for the 3 gun matches. Been using a No 5 shot.

Temps at 71? You poor thing! Temps here will be in the 30's. Granted we aren't dealing with a 71 wind.

Shotgun load for 3 gun? I used to use some Federal Tactical 000, that worked well. But when I got down to my last case of that I switched to #4 stuff. It patterns well at the distances we shoot.

Mog Mile? Do tell...

Thanks!

I agree. I’ve never cared for Glocks, and opted for the Springfield XD, which I find to be less bulky, possessed of a better captive assembly mechanism, internal block/grip safety (in addition to he safety features you mentioned) and a superior trigger. I added a Crimson Trace laser sight and it is among the most dependable pistols that I own. I’ve run 2000+ rounds through it (various loads) with no jams.
