<I know I’m gonna get flamed big time for saying this but it’s the MTV hit-making trio that most people visualize when they think of Genesis,
No flame from me. I think you’re absolutely right. I think Gabriel is almost a musical genius and really appreciate his work, but when I think ‘Genesis,’ I think Phil Collins - and I’m not even in the MTV demographic.
The irony, of course, is that Gabriel himself had no trouble churning out radio-friendly hits and groundbreaking MTV videos as a solo artist, achieving alongside his former Genesis bandmates a level of worldwide popularity that eluded both of them when they played together.
