FG in OT Send Saints to the Super Bowl to face Indianaplis Colts. Finally, 2 good playoff games today.
I think Archie has been dreading this matchup.
Actually, Minnesota is as big as a welfare state as Louisiana and Al Frankin would have never been elected in Louisiana.
And Nagin is on his way out of office and the Saints are on the way to the Superbowl.
Just heard an interview with Archie and he was happy for the Saints but he has to pull for his son.
My home in New Orleans is a few blocks from Archie’s house and I would see he and his sons around the neighborhood quite a bit and watched Peyton play HS football.
Now I live in Austin where Drew Brees grew-up and watched him play HS ball.
But, I’m a Saints fan and have to go with Drew.
I’m just hoping for a good game.
I suppose for Archie it isn’t as agonizing as a Colts-Giants SB would be.
Actually, I think Archie would love that.
As for the Saints, Archie is still pissed that the team did not support him during his day. Archie with a read team, with a good O line, RB’s and receivers would have gone to SB’s in the 1970’s.
Even as a kid in NOLA, I felt bad for Archie as he got pounded year after year.
1,440 boo hoo Katrina references in 4,3,2......
Archie got stuck on a poor NO team, didn’t he? That was too bad, ‘cos Archie was an exceptional QB.
Yes, he was a great QB on a bad team.
Excellent question! I’d like the answer to that myself.
How are the Saints “cover” for any of the Katrina mess? I’m not following your “logic” here...
You are sooo right! Al Frankin as a candidate in LA?? ROFLOL!!
Nice!
My favorite Saints logo.
I like it, but like the state with the fleur de lys better since that’s a bit more reflective of the level of excitement right now!
In the next two weeks we will be saturated with Katrina boo hoo stories tied to the Saints team. Lousy violent corrupt city has Super Bowl bound team.... now that is something in an affirmative action hire presidency nation can be proud of.....
Your dislike of N.O. is palpable, but don’t forget that there are many equally corrupt cities elsewhere in this nation. Actually, you sound more like a disappointed Vikings fan. You don’t like N.O.?? Fine. That’s your prerogative, but it is a beautiful city with a unique history. As for its violence, corruption and being “lousy” (whatever that’s supposed to mean!), I doubt seriously it is the crown-bearer of those epithets. I can think of several cities in the US more so.... and as for the comment “affirmative action hire presidency nation” - you’ve just insulted the entire United States. I think much more of our country than that. Why don’t you???
On the final note: TURN OFF THE TELEVISION if the media gets to you! No one will be forcing you to watch or listen to any “Katrina boo hoo stories”, as you call them. But don’t blame the Saints because they are in N.O. They were there LONG before Katrina hit. There is no link other than that between the two - which really should be obvious.
I am now in Austin and there are a great deal of Saints fans here. Reasons for that is that Texas has lots of Louisiana economic refugees, Katrina refuges and Austin with the music scenes has a symbiotic relationship with New Orleans.
*And who won the Packers game today?
Oh, thats right, the team Brett beat twice did not make it this far.*
It takes a real mental giant to be happy that your team was able to play one more game—and lose! due to the fault of the sports equivalent an ex-wife!—than a rival team. Well played, sir!
