In terms of compassion, there are those who extend it, those who are the objects of it, and those who are the observers of its extension.

I have suffered (as you have) and the knowledge that my suffering was understood by others did nothing to alleviate the suffering.

Suffering is the battle front. Only those on the front lines can know.

Compassion is nothing more than a nice letter from home...

That said, I do appreciate your point of view in the discussion of this incredibly poignant matter.

I am pondering this profound statement.

Obviously it is correct and monumentally so.

I think I am approaching the subject matter from the point of view of the sufferer and not those who understand him/her.

Thanks for expanding my view of this subject.
