And how do you know this person’s interpretation is the “right” one? Could it not, as a poster suggested above, be open to different interpretations? Like poetry, literature or movies, different points of view of readers/viewers should be encouraged and expected. Maybe Lady GaGa’s (and I’m not a fan) reason for doing this was just to see how many people she could throw into a tizzy.

HI gardencatz, I don't think Gaga had the intent of shocking anyone with this particular video actually (though obviously she does love shocking people.) This video was rather tame considering some of her other stuff. The symbolism is so subtle, only people with some sort of expertise in the field would catch the details and make the connections.

Therefore, the power of the video is in the *subconscious* impact it has more than anything else. I can't be sure if Gaga is evem aware of the meaning of all the symbols, but it's clear, the DIRECTOR does. He obviously has a strong knowledge of ancient spirituality, the Bible, and of occultic and Freudian concepts because he's incorporated them in several other major videos he's directed.

For me personally, it shows that there is demonic influence even behind seemingly harmless, light-hearted "pop" videos and that we can't underestimate the power these visual images can have on people subconsciously.
