Yes, E-Bay can be useful for money laundering.

The comments at the site indicate that it’s not the controller but the game “Stadium Events” that is very rare and caused the price to go so high.

I’ve got one sitting in the garage with about 100 games, that I’d gladly let go for $13,000.

We have a store in my town that sells the old Nintendo consoles and the games. They look brand new. They seem to do a pretty brisk business.

I am an avid collector of NES games, the game Stadium Events was only released in selected Woolworths department stores in the North East as a test run. Nintendo then bought the rights to the game and changed it into World Class Track Meet (which was made in the millions) Bandai the maker of stadium events then recalled the remaining copies and had them destroyed. It is estimated that only 200 copies were sold and of them only 10 still have the box and manual.

The game it self sells for abut $2,000.00 while the box and for $10,000 and the manual for 2-3,000.00 Also this is the only commerically released NES game that sells for this much, there are about 10 others which will fetch over $100 and the rest are mostly dirt cheap.

Very fascination. Thanks for the info.

I still plug in the old NES from time to time, just to enjoy some retro gaming.
