What about calculus?
PING to Palin Notice.
Where’s that grizzly picture?
I have no problems making fun of Obama’s retarded son, but then again, Biden’s old enough to take it.
I fail to see where Trig is being made fun of in this clip. Is it in other parts of the episode? Someone, please clarify the problem for me.
In the clip, a DS girl is the object of affection for the older son, Chris. They go on a date. She is clear about wanting to be treated with respect ("Hold out my chair", "Don't be rude, ask me about myself") and is even a bit forward ("Now give me a shoulder rub")... there's NOTHING insulting to Sarah Palin or Trig Palin or those with Down's Syndrome in that clip at all. They merely make a connection between a person with DS and Sarah Palin... as would most Americans, since Trig is probably the only person they know with DS.
This is being far over-blown by the hyper-sensitive. In Sarah's case, she has a right to be... she has been under full media assault for about a year now. The rest of us should be more insightful on her behalf. Her advisors should have been more on top of this one.
Saul Alinsky’s RIDICULE rule is mean-spirited. We must call our EVERYone who uses it against the innocent.
And if we Conservatives use it against the Liberal-Alinsky-ites, we need to back it up with FACTS.
‘k?
I agree that he should be off limits to politics. However, it would help if they wouldn't put him on magazine covers and the like. I'm just saying.
Leno’s unfunny pokes at the Palin children last year cost him this viewer.
Well now we know how they’ll get to her.
Children of politicians should be off-limits.
At the same time, I know an awful lot more about Palin’s kids than I ever knew about any other politician’s kids. Until the 2008 primary, I don’t think I had ever heard Chelsea Clinton’s voice.
And I still don’t know which Obama child is which.
Palin needs to build a wall around her children somehow. I mean, even in defending Trig on Facebook, she quotes Bristol. So instead of Palin versus Seth McFarlane, the battle line can be drawn between Bristol and Seth McFarlane. And who do you think is going to win that?
My prediction is that at some point this season, Brian the Dog will have a date with Bristol Palin.
smart. She knows her enemy well.
Imagine the 24/7 howls of outrage from all the demholes and MSMwhores if Rush or Glenn Beck said a single unkind word about one of Obama’s kids.
Cry me a river. But first, explain who did this. Until then, this is just another PC victimhood statement.
Palin got in a fight with Letterman, Letterman is now leading late-night programming. If she takes on MacFarlane, his ratings will increase, not decrease. People who are sympathetic to Palin aren't watching Family Guy. But, people who are predisposed to like that kind of humor will only be enticed to watch now that Palin has fired back. It's a lose-lose for Palin and her family.
As they say, when you roll around with pigs, the pigs love it and you get filthy.
That’s OK by me. I never liked trigonometry.
((((Ping))))
Damned straight. Woe be unto the anal orifice that mocks Trig.
Sarah needs to rise above this. She’s only calling more attention to lowlifes like McFarland (sp?), who stoop to the lowest forms of humor and cater to the lowest common denominator. At least South Park and SNL are funny, on occasion. I just don’t get the appeal of Family Guy.
But anyway, she knows as well as anyone else that people with no other talent to speak of will stoop to base humor for a cheap laugh. They’ve been with us since the birth of theater and they’re not going away.
If Sarah’s going to be the next Reagan, she needs to carry herself as such. Ron’s family took some lumps in the media too, but he always carried himself with dignity. Trig’s going to discover soon enough that there are mean people out there who will make fun of his condition, and they’re not all on the schoolyard. It’s what you do about them that counts.
I said this from the start: The Palins were overexposing their children, which was going to bring them some grief. It also puts the children in danger with all the nuts running around.
