Schools that force girls to wear skirts as part of their official uniform are discriminating against transsexuals, a British watchdog claims.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission says schools may be breaking the law if they continue to make skirts compulsory, Britain's Daily Mail newspaper reports.
The commission has even threatened "costly legal action" if uniform rules are not changed.
In a report commissioned by the British government, the watchdog found that "requiring pupils to wear gender-specific clothes is potentially unlawful".
"Pupils born female with gender dysphoria experienced great discomfort being forced to wear stereotypical girls’ clothes — for example a skirt," the report says.
But some schools have already dismissed the commission's findings as silly.
"The message is: not in my school — we’re sticking with our skirts," King Edward VI Handsworth school head teacher Elspeth Insch told the newspaper.
The 68-page report was commissioned by deputy PM Harriet Harman to investigate the human rights of transsexuals.

I am sure 1000s of businessmen feel uncomfortable in ties and dress clothes and would much rather wear khakis and a polo shirt, but that isn’t what society demands.

A man who thinks he is a woman has a mental disorder. Period. End of discussion. Boys who think they are girls or girls who think they are boys have taken their imagination way too far, and made it worse by their parents and adults around them encourage their fantasies.
Transsexuality is a lie. These people are sick.
If skirts are unfair, why would pants be any better for a tranny? One of them is bound to prefer a skirt, anyway.
They could wear shorts, but how short is too short?

And women’s restroom without urinals would seem to discriminate against transvestites.

It appears that transvestite/transsexualism is the new frontier in the homosexual agenda. Now supposedly people are "born" with gender dys-whatever it is. I wonder how many of these poor kids are being raised by homosexuals? Just a thought. I read about one kid a year or two ago, on FR, whose parents encouraged him to dress and act like a girl since he was very little. Guess what happened. He became one of the gender dys-whatever they are and he and his parents demanded that he be called "she" in school and so on.
It is imperative for the survival of our country that the entire homosexual agenda be rolled back, eliminated, uprooted and considered to be what it really is - a serious mental illness. That in many cases may be curable.

As a hetrosexual female I hated having to wear skirts to elementary school (was the code back in those days).
Cold and wind not good.
So I protested and wore legging pants (1960s) under them and got sent home, alot.
Then the year came that it was ok for girls to wear pants.
Well where we live I dont see to many fishermen in ties/slacks.
Alot of folks where there PJ pants out to the grocery store.
Not the slippers thank God.
Guess it depends on what society you live in.
Guess you have not been watching the male figure skating Olympics.
We had to turn it off due to our Lenten obligation.

People are born with a genetic desire to cross dress, and their genes compel them to express that desire in elementary school? Who knew?
If they all they want is to accommodate this genetic need, perhaps they could allow transsexual kindergarten girls to wear a manly kilt instead of a feminine skirt. Would that satisfy the radical activists?
