From my work I was taught to curl up in a ball & cover my face & stay as still as you can. Dogs want the chase. So stay still. Sometimes they will get bored & go away. I wouldn’t count on it though. And pray somebody comes with a gun. Here in NJ you can’t really carry guns to protect yourself & mace doesn’t work. So my little dogs stay in my stockade double fenced yard. We have a pit that gets loose & all the parents are upset. The owner is a dizzy woman who swears her Lily wouldn’t hurt a fly. We keep a baseball bat by the front steps to beat it with if it wanders around Sassy, my daughter. The animal control comes out but by then the pit is back home. It is a time bomb ticking. I know one of the many kids here are going to get bitten and there is nothing we can do legally. We have to wait until a cop or a animal control officer sees her loose. Go figure!
