I hate marijuana!!! It has stolen 13 years from my son’s life. He too thinks it is harmless. He has college degree.. started smoking in college, does nothing else beside pot but it has taken away, his son, relationships, jobs... he now waits tables at 33. Very bad imho! He knows he can’t pass a drug test at other jobs.

Some people are potaholics. A bit here and there just doesn’t work for them. The same is true for alcohol. Your unfortunate personal story doesn’t change my opinion.

I note that you're not getting a lot of sympathy here. Well, I'm sympathetic. I'm sorry your son got involved in it. It's a destructive drug, in my opinion. I've seen a lot of people who lose all ambition and get stuck in a time warp -- they never grow into responsible adults because their head is in a cloud of smoke. It's sad.

I recognize that the War on Drugs also has negative side effects, but I part ways with the Libertarians on this -- I think society has a positive interest in helping people avoid lives of substance abuse. It's not a victimless crime (and legalizing these things won't change that).

That's just another reason why we either need to get rid of drug testing in the workplace or making marijuana legal again.
