To: Little Pig
I'll have to take your word for it, since I've never been allowed to see it. However, I do think it's remarkable that Disney continues to milk this movie to the tune of several million dollars a year. Splash Mountain is one of the most popular attractions at their theme parks, yet we're not allowed to see the movie which inspired the ride. Disney milks "Zippedy-Do-Dah" incessantly, though we only get to see the song in remakes or truncated clips.

Even if the movie is all that bad, they could still release it with some sort of "for adult collectors - not suitable for children" label, like other 1940's material. They released this film for home viewing in Britain and Canada, so why not the USA?

I agree. BTW, you can often find torrents of the movie on the internet.
