Personally, I liked both Betts and Rock, but business is business and we need a champion team. Hope they land on their feet somewhere good.
sic transit gloria
If you're approaching your 15th year in the league, are rated at best as "average" at your chosen position (or any position for that matter), have been physically unable to play more than 5 regular season games and no "pre-season" games in any given season, and are at least 32+ years of age.....
The Chicago Bears can use your talents!!
I’d have kept Betts and Cartwright and released Portis.
Hopefully Shanahan will get Peyton Hillis out of his Denver Bronco hell and bring him to the Redskins.....
Looks like they also cut Randle El, and Chris Samuels retired.
Sorry, no champion team until the current owner is released.
Woah, the Chargers cut Jamal Williams. That guy is a hoss; he must have gotten old fast over the last couple seasons.
I wouldn’t mind if the Browns took a good look at him. He’s a 3-time Pro Bowler and, at least a couple years ago, was the type of guy you can build a defense around. If he didn’t completely fall off a cliff, he might still be good for a couple years to take some pressure off the rookies they’ll probably have all over the defense next season.
It has been too long...I remember the glory days..Monk, Theisman, Riggins, hogs, manley..etc.
Skins need to shed a lot of payroll and cut the dead wood out of their franchise, but until Snyder goes, the team will flounder. I personally don’t mind watching them fail, season after season, but having one of the premiere franchises in such disarray can’t be a good thing for the league as a whole.
Here, here. But, given Portis’ history with Shanahan, he’s on a bubble, as it is. Mike doesn’t like Portis’ work ethic.
Love Hillis. Would love to see him get a chance to really shine.
lol...what work ethic??
Overdue.
Exactly. One of the best deals Denver ever made was trading Portis for Champ Bailey.
