What a name.

Unfortunately for the other students, the school did the right thing. Allowing this type of dysfunctional behavior would send a message to the other students that it's normal and acceptable. Bad company corrupts good character.
It's too bad all the other kids had to suffer because of two losers who simply want to flaunt their freakishness.
I hope the other kids remember what these two did to them. They'll grow up and be the next group of voters some day.

Good call by the school board.

Sure, the normosexual kids have to forego their prom. But they’ll be paying for these perversexuals’ misconduct throughout their lives. May as well learn that lesson young.

And who knows? Maybe their generation will clean up this mess that my generation was too cowardly to.

AS these failed social experiments get more and hours under their belt the more obvious it becomes why they have been out of the realm of the ‘norm’ for thousands of years. Now we're to the point where a single couple can deny an entire student body the enjoyment of a social tradition.

IMHO, it started with the forcing of no-fault divorce on America by the feminists in the 70’s or so. Another one of those great ideas that caught on with liberal law makers, based on no-fault auto insurance, and was pushed to the limit without waiting to see how it would be treated by the law of unintended consequences. It's been a disaster. Turns out there was a solid grounding for making it difficult for one party of a marriage to decide unilaterally call off the union.

Ethanol is another example of some great liberal idea catching on and lawmakers hopping on the bandwagon with little concern for the law of unintended consequences.

And with the liberals’ inability to own up to making a mistake and clinging to their failed ideas and policies, rather than concede error and fix the problem, it only grows worse.

As the war in Iraq began to turn the corner following the bold stand of George Bush and The Surge the liberal response was to deny the improvements and raise the level of liberal criticism of the war to the level of hysteria. And when that had run it's course, and just when the all the signs were pointing to the wisdom of the surge approach they abandoned the hysterical political criticism to calling for the criminal prosecution of those whose policies had brought about the victory.

Sane with welfare, and unwed mothers, requiring positive ID to vote and trying to make the grade school playground a harmless environment. The list goes on and on.

I know this little diatribe will meet with some flaming, but I would simply challenge those who disagree to tell me what the liberal approach of the last 10 plus years has brought to the life of Americans that worked like they said it would. We've ended up with having to cancel proms, with budget deficits that defy the imagination, with communists and socialists and progressives in the White House and soon females on submarines.

The simple truth is that most, if not all, of these liberal and progressive ideas that sounded great in theory will turn out proving very convincingly not only to not work as advertised, but to do real harm to the fabric of our nation. Promising Rainbow Stew and free unicorn rides to a mal-educated electorate can result in getting their way, but there's no avoiding the consequences of abandoning standards that have served society well for thousands of years.

I am confident a total collapse is imminent at this point. And when it does, what rises from the ashes to replace it will not be another round of social engineering theories that sound like a utopia is as simple as “if it feels good, do it!” What will spring up in its place will be good ol’, corny and restrictive, conservative practices. One man and one woman working as a family unit to raise kids that are taught what makes life work. Men who fight wars to win as quickly and decisively as possible. A tax code that serves to fund the PROPER activities of government and not to further social engineering theories.

I think high school (or junior-high) proms are an idea whose time has come and gone. That type of socializing is no longer a feature of most adults’ lives, so what’s the point of play-acting it for teenagers?

It would be much more useful (and less expensive!) for families or private organizations to hold semi-formal lunches or dinners, at which young adults could practice the manners they will need in modern business or social life.

There’s a picture of her on the front of the Clarion Ledger.

She’s a BIG GIRL.

I’ve been up in that area. Beautiful country. Looks untouched, farms everywhere, little junk shops and fruit stands all over. And that’s it.

She did this for attention. That part of the state is like taking a walk back through time, in a good way. Solid folks, nice place to raise kids. Decent church going people.

THAT doesn’t belong there. To force everyone else to except it and demand things go her way or else is bull. That tells you right there how selfish she is.

Now she and her girlfriend got that prom cancelled. Ruined it for everyone for what ? No really, for what ?

So she could BE someone ? All anyone will remember is what a hateful thing she did because she only thought about herself.

Can they be sued for not having a prom? This could get real interesting. Imagine, a minority having to bear the responsibility for trashing common custom and celebration? Somehow, somewhere, the heteros will be called “homophobic” for establishing common rules of behavior. Oh, the hugh manatee.

The article cites not a single student who seemed bothered by the lesbian couple. It seems the administration and not the students are upset by the lesbian couple.

The school web page http://www.itawambaahs.com/ includes a photos link.

But it seems that they are pretty liberal. They have a black student and in one photo he is touching a white girl. Once I saw this photo I knew a lesbian couple was certainly the next step towards decadence.

Perfect. Now just have a private prom, by invitation only, and don’t invite the homos.

Wait a minute...isn’t she 18? Her date is a sophomore which would maker her say 15 or 16. Hmmm....sounds like statutory rape to me or at least contributing to the deliquency of a minor. This McMullen chick isn’t just a wierdo she’s a criminal! Don’t they have laws in Mississippi? Come on and step up and do the right thing.

Good decision.

Now these two freaks can feel guilty about ruining the entire event for everyone. (though I doubt they will)

Once again, the majority must change for the minority.

Mississippi - not to be confused with Massachusetts - is the #1 Protestant state and #4 in % of Evangelicals (see chart:http://peacebyjesus.witnesstoday.org/Statistical_Correlations.html) and voted 80% to ban homosexual marriage.

I knew a man who had been an elementary school principal in the 1940s, sent there because the school had severe discipline problems.

His solution, corporal punishment, worked very well and redeemed many a student.

But then, a single mother enrolled her 3rd grade son in the school. She supported the two of them not by work, but by litigation, long before it was fashionable. He son was a violent psychopath, and when he would be punished, she would sue the school, and often win.

So even while she was enrolling him, she threatened the principal with a lawsuit if he so much laid a finger on her little monster.

Well, the boy physically attacked his classmates, actively vandalized school property, stole, and finally broke into another classroom and hurled their pet guinea pigs out a high window, to their deaths.

But the principal had a solution. Because he had attacked his classmates during recess, the principal decided that he should no longer take his recess with his 3rd grade peers, but with the 5th grade boys.

And the 5th grade boys did not tolerate his antics, and preceded to pound it out of him. Quickly his mother was at school, threatening a lawsuit. But the principal just shrugged and said that the school was not liable. Her only recourse would be to sue the dirt poor parents of the 5th grade boys.

No money in it for her, she withdrew her son from school and moved on.

I say this, because the students at this high school should find out who was responsible for ruining their prom, by being a litigious dork. Hopefully some of the other girls could explain to her what they think of her taking away their once-in-a-lifetime experience.

At first I thought ...'no fair to the students who abide by the rules'...

..then I realized this is a very good call by the school board!

They knew they'd be mucked in a lawsuit & obnoxious media if they didn't allow the usurpers to wreck the prom...

...and if they did acquiesce, the board probably couldn't look themselves in the mirror...(this is Mississippi after all, the heart of the Bible Belt!)

Good call...!

Let the two dykes deal with the mess now!
