Why isn't the White House a smoke free environment?

Posted on 03/12/2010 2:18:03 PM PST by A Cyrenian

I think almost all other government buildings have been declared a non-smoking environment.

Why isn't the White House included?

I see the feds think it's important to for others to follow their attitude.

In Animal House, eventually the pigs started walking on two legs and eating at the table with dishes and silverware. Same idea.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

In Animal House

Do you mean "Animal Farm"?

Maybe they were referring to John Belushi. :D

I never said he had to stop smoking.

I'm just pointing out a inconsistency in our federal standards. If they want everyone to stop smoking in the public owned facilities, I think the White House should follow suit.

Congratulation & good luck on your cessation.

Well it is a residence. I personally don’t think this is a big deal. I know a great many cigar, pipe and cigarette smokers who happen to be Republican. If one of them were to become president, I’d like them to be able to smoke at home.

She definitely was a smoker, as to when and if she quit, I don’t know.

But are they pushing a health care policy that no one wants?

Sorry it’s not situational. If it’s ok for a Republican to smoke it’s ok for a democrat. It’s the Democrats who typically hold the double standards.

Animal House / Animal Farm - whatever - mixing my cultural metaphors - anyway I’m about ready for the Funny House or Funny Farm myself!
