We bought our farm in central Kentucky last August. The Fed Gov even paid us $8k for doing it. We can be completely self sufficient there. And even if the $234 a year property tax DOUBLES, we can live there for quite a while spending almost nothing.
That is a problem. Our property tax in the county just west of KCMO is over $3K a year.
I pay over $4,000 a year property tax on a $130,000 house. The only thing bad about Texas.
