CDC Analysis Provides New Look at Disproportionate Impact of HIV and Syphilis Among U.S. Gay and Bisexual Men
A data analysis released today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention underscores the disproportionate impact of HIV and syphilis among gay and bisexual men in the United States.
The data, presented at CDC's 2010 National STD Prevention Conference, finds that the rate of new HIV diagnoses among men who have sex with men (MSM) is more than 44 times that of other men and more than 40 times that of women.
While CDC data have shown for several years that gay and bisexual men make up the majority of new HIV and new syphilis infections, CDC has estimated the rates of these diseases for the first time based on new estimates of the size of the U.S. population of MSM.
"While the heavy toll of HIV and syphilis among gay and bisexual men has been long recognized, this analysis shows just how stark the health disparities are between this and other populations," said Kevin Fenton, M.D., director of CDC's National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention. "It is clear that we will not be able to stop the U.S. HIV epidemic until every affected community, along with health officials nationwide, prioritize the needs of gay and bisexual men with HIV prevention efforts."
Research shows that a range of complex factors contribute to the high rates of HIV and syphilis among gay and bisexual men.
Also, the risk of HIV transmission through receptive anal sex is much greater than the risk of transmission via other sexual activities, and some gay and bisexual men are relying on prevention strategies that may be less effective than consistent condom use.

The real argument is because the Bible, as part of its moral law, shows that He created male and female uniquely compatible and complementary, and only joined them in marriage, which is the only context in which sexual relations are sanctified.
The deleterious effects of promiscuous sex of both kinds is an argument in favor of the wisdom God’s laws.
Romans 1 speaks of an afflictive penalty* for male homoeroticism, and male homosex is medically indicated to more easily spread infectious diseases, due to details between the MSM sex and that which a women.
While this aspect could be an argument for homosexual marriage, God’s complementary joining of male and female goes beyond mere physical considerations and His design for such, while the only studies done of homosexual marriage show that they most typically redefine it in terms of rejecting monogamy as well.

Personally, I have no problem with any subsegment of society as long as they obey the law and are productive contributing members of society - and I see the vast majority of the gay community in that generalization.

If you looked at the linked page, you would have seen homosexuality is only a part of it, but it is a most manifest example of rejection of Biblical morality.
The real reason it is wrong is because God has so declared it is (see post 61), and harmful to man.
But on the health aspects, while you seem to want to defend homosexuality as being manifestly healthy, let me assure you that if a consensual behavior such partaking in the Lord’s supper resulted in the deaths of over half a million Americans alone (over 25 mil. world-wide), and a substantially increased incidence of diseases and premature death, and the majority of participants were infected and continued to spread diseases after 30 years of attempts to get them to practice “safe suppers”, then saying it should be promoted would be hard sell.
While homosexual relations are not alone in spreading AIDS, it has been the foremost means of doing so, with heterosexual promiscuity providing the majority of the rest.

I love how the CDC attributes this to a complex set of factors, but then admits it is because these men stick their penises in the anuses of other men.
Also, I guarantee the actual disparity is even greater, as no doubt, many of those with syphillis or HIV who claim to be heterosexuals are actually homosexuals.
It is both sad and infuriating that the Democrat party and the MSM continue to encourage this self-destructive behavior by telling these men it is normal. Anyone who cares about homosexuals would love them enough to tell them the truth. Is it loving to tell a meth or crack addict that their behavior is normal and harmless?
It is also infuriating that Liberals like John Kerry want to allow and encourage these lost men to contaminate the blood supply and sicken and kill thoudands and thousands of innocent people for the sake of political correctness.

This is just a wild guess on my part. I have not spent a penny in research money to come to this conclusion. It just could be that this group of people are engaging in a behavior that is unique to this particular population, and that behavior is putting them at vastly increased risk of contracting syphilis and HIV. Since these are both venereal diseases, I conclude that these people are engaging in sexual practices that are different that the rest of the population.
Sounds like the same sort of crap Islamists use to justify hatred of us..

The reason why liberals seek to allow and encourage this is the same reason they favor Islam, which is because they have a shared rebellion against the God of the Bible (as Pilate and Herod became friends), and thus a rebellion against just moral authority. It’s really an anal sex thing. It is also more common in heterosexual relationships in Europe, and women are more prone to Aids in Europe as well. Go figure.
Then there is the dry sex in Africa which, among other things, ensures there is a high infection rate there.
